Over the years our customers have sent in story after story of our greenhouses overcoming weather obstacles. 

Our greenhouses are built with heavy-duty aluminum frames. They are 30 to 50% heavier than our competition. We have been developing our framing systems for over 70 years both for strength and weather resistance.

Greenhouse Load Ratings for Wind and Snow

Our standard wind load rating is 85 MPH (136 KPH) and snow is 32 pounds per square foot. With engineering and upgraded glazing options, we can upgrade both of these load ratings to whatever you may need.

BC Greenhouse vs Hurricane

One of our customers, located in Houston, Texas, lived through the destruction and damage of Hurricane Harvey in 2017. 

When news of the hurricane's trajectory hit the media, we immediately thought of her and waited to hear how we might be able to help after the storm has passed.  Within days, we received photos of her greenhouse submerged in about 7 feet (over 2 meters) of water.

We discussed what might be required to get the greenhouse up and running again after all the flooding. Possibly glass, weather stripping, caulking, maybe a new door.

The next time we heard from the customer, she had great news! Her family was safe and her greenhouse withstood the storm without any damage. The only thing needed was a good cleanup.

BC Greenhouse vs Tornado

One of our customers, located in Connecticut, was located right in the path of an unexpected Tornado.

The greenhouse had been placed on a wood foundation which needed some repair prior to the tornado. Our customer replaced their wood foundation with a new brick foundation, built a truss system, and lifted the entire greenhouse onto the new foundation.

The only notable damage was to a roof vent due to a branch falling from the fierce wind, which we helped them to replace. The wind reached over 110 MPH (177 KMH), but the structure itself remained intact!
